Welcome to week
twenty-eight! This week’s theme is: American History Week\
Announcements:
In
music class the first and second grade students have been practicing to perform
a special musical called “Getting Down with Mama Goose.” The first and second graders
will perform this program, together,
on March 28th at 8:45 a.m. Parents
are invited to come to our school that day to watch their students
perform. Some of the second grade
students will have speaking parts. If
your student has a speaking part you will receive a separate email.
Our
class book has been submitted to Studentreasures publishing company to get
published! I can no longer accept parent
orders for the book. However,
Studentreasures will open up an additional ordering period after the first
round of books are published and sent to our class.
Only one more weeks left in our Box Top Contest! Keep sending in Box Tops to help second grade win our school contest! The grade with the most box tops per-capita on March 8th gets a "Uniform Free Day."
We started a new spelling program this week. We will have an assigned list of words that students will focus on spelling each week. Please see the spelling section of our blog post to see the list of words we will be learning this week.
The second graders have been working hard to earn "class points." Last week they made it to 60 class points which means that we have earned a class party. The second graders voted to have extra recess for their class party. We will be having this extra recess on Friday. They are already on the way to earning our next class party. Great job second graders!
